About page and sourced UK average

We added an About page explaining who runs the site and how the figures are sourced and checked, and a trust card on the homepage, how-to page and every city page linking to it. Dates now reflect when data was actually reviewed rather than the day the site was built.

  • New /about page: who runs the site, why it exists, the yield formula, city and UK-average sourcing, and how figures are checked.
  • City pages, the homepage and the how-to page now show a byline and sourcing note instead of a same-day "page last updated" claim.
  • The UK average gross yield is now derived from a sourced ONS rent and price figure instead of a fixed constant.
  • Removed unused third-party tracking scripts; the site now loads only Plausible, and the privacy policy says so.

Rebuilt extension popup

We rebuilt the extension's popup from the ground up so it does a lot more than gross yield alone.

  • Shows both gross and net rental yield, not just gross.
  • Added a mortgage model, so yield and cash flow reflect your deposit, rate and term.
  • Shows monthly cash flow from your rent, costs and mortgage.
  • Shows cash-on-cash return against the cash you'd actually put in.
  • Get the Chrome extension to try it on Zoopla, Rightmove, OnTheMarket or PrimeLocation.

We added a new page ranking all 10 UK cities by indicative gross rental yield, so you can compare them at a glance and jump straight to a city's dedicated calculator.

We added dedicated rental yield calculators for 10 UK cities, each pre-filled with local average prices and median rents so you can see a headline gross yield at a glance.

  • New calculators for London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Nottingham, Liverpool and Sheffield.
  • Each city page shows indicative gross yields by number of bedrooms, sourced from official government statistics.

Chrome extension for any web page
